Coverdell Education Savings Account
Designed to help parents and students save for educational expenses. Total contributions for the account beneficiary cannot exceed $2,000 per year, no matter how many accounts you establish. A beneficiary is a person under age 18 or a person with special needs.
- Contributions are not deductible
- Amounts deposited in the account grow tax free until distributed
- The beneficiary will not owe tax on the distributions if they are less than a beneficiary’s qualified education expenses (This benefit applies to qualified higher education expenses as well as to qualified elementary and secondary education expenses.)

Health Savings Account
A Heath Savings Account (HSA) is a great way to accumulate savings to pay for qualified health care expenses.
- Contributions made by or on behalf of the HSA owner (excluding employer contributions) are tax deductible by the HSA owner on Federal and some state tax returns
- The earnings in an HSA are tax-deferred until withdrawn
- There is no "use it or lose it" provision like with flexible spending accounts (FSAs)
- An eligible individual is a person covered under a qualifying high deductible health plan on the first day of the month, or one who is generally not covered by any other health plan that is a non-HDHP
