Family Security Credit Union doesn’t just provide superior products and services. We’re also devoted members of the areas we serve through community building and by helping people in need.

We regularly give assistance to numerous organizations. Volunteering for an American Cancer Society fundraiser, attending a Relay for Life event, hosting a 5K event to benefit Autism research, assisting with a build for Habitat for Humanity, and answering phones during a St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital telethon are just a few examples.

How to Request a Sponsorship or Donation

• Fill out the Sponsorship and Donation Request form and send it to marketing@myfscu.com
• Submit a request at least 30 days prior to the event
• Allow 10 to 15 days for request review
• The marketing department will contact you with a decision

CU Cares in the Classroom

CU Cares in the Classroom is a small grant program created by Family Security Credit Union to support K–12 teachers in our Alabama service areas. We know educators often reach into their own pockets to fund supplies and projects, and this is our way of saying, “We’ve got your back.”

What Can the Grant Be Used For?

Teachers can apply for up to $250 to fund classroom needs such as:

• Supplies & learning materials
• Financial literacy tools
• Books & reading corners
• STEM or creative projects
• Classroom enhancements
• Field trip support

Who Can Apply?

• Certified teachers in our Alabama service areas
• All grade levels and subjects welcome
• Public, private, or charter schools are eligible

When to Apply

Our application period opens August 1st and closes August 31st. Winners are announced by late September.

How It Works

1. Apply online – short and simple form
2. Internal review – our CU team selects recipients
3. Grant awarded – funding provided up to $250
4. Share your story – optional photos or testimonials to show impact

Why We Do It

We believe in investing in future generations. When we support teachers, we support entire communities. CU Cares in the Classroom is another way we live out our credit union mission—People Helping People.
